kingston church, dorset
street's church of 1873-80 piles up tightly as if it were cashel, short tall chunks of building huddled below the tower with much wall and little window. most of the openings are lancet, and there is no sculpture. unlike many of his churches, structural polychromy plays no part; this was built as a black and white church, the red being algae not stone. yet street called this his jolliest church.
