holy cross church, canterbury
the church was built in 1375-80 by archbishop sudbury, and stands next to his westgate. it replaces the old church which was over the previous town gate. it is now used by the town council as a debating chamber, and fitted out for this. locked, some at least of the furnishings have been dispersed to other churches.
