bluecoat school, westminster, london
founded in 1688 by william greene, owner of watney's brewery, and built 1709 on caxton street. in common with the first bluecoat school , christ's hospital, the boys wore a uniform of breeches with silver buttons, a blue frock coat with neck bands, and yellow socks to deter vermin. this is a side entrance.
