st.olave old jewry tower, london
built by wren 1670-9, tower now secularised, church demolished 1888. the old church, shaped like a coffin, was so close to nearby buildings that on its demolition a neighbour complained about his loss of amenities as he had been used to walk and smoke on the church roof.
