I find it amazing that a massive tree species, Coast Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens), has such tiny needles and a cone smaller than a nutmeg. There are several young (maybe 100 years old) 30 meter tall redwoods in downtown Eugene. Since redwoods can live more than 2000 years, I wonder what will become of them -- and enjoy a delicious apple brandy.
