“Feast before the Flood”

A 2019 mural by Australian artist Fintan Magee, described as a "commentary on climate change," graces the Chamber of Commerce in Eugene, Oregon. Plenty of parking. And a crow. For World Photography Day 2023.

Somehow the crow makes the picture, perspective perhaps. Nice that you found it without any cars parked in front. I really like finding actual art on walls. This one is appealing on many levels.

Climate change is certainly on everyone's minds these days - is that why you chose this for our event?

But what surprised me was discovering that you are ipernity member living in Oregon! How have I missed that all these years. I'm up in Portland, along with another member across town from me. And there is another down along the border of California.

Steve Nordby replied to raingirl:

Climate change is indeed something the entire world is experiencing. Locally, World Photography Day was preceded and followed by smoke from multiple forest fires enhanced by the years of drought. The smoke cleared for just one day, World Photography Day. And yes the crow!

The smoke seems to be gone for now - rain which I love. A moment of calm.
