Tiger Mural, River Clyde, Glasgow

Klingatron has collaborated with Art Pistol to re-imagine the original tiger design previously installed at this location. Incorporating a high level of detail, and occupying the same high profile location adjacent to South Portland Suspension Bridge, this mural is becoming as iconic as its predecessor. Quoted from the City Centre Mural Trail website.

What's the significance of the tiger?

Joe, Son of the Rock replied to slgwv:

This is the second tiger to be painted on this wall. The original one was to celebrate the Chinese New Year, when it was the Year of the Tiger.

slgwv replied to Joe, Son of the Rock:

Ah. Thanks for the backstory. I knew the lion was England's mascot, but I thought Scotland's was the unicorn!

Joe, Son of the Rock replied to slgwv:

The unicorn was first used on the Scottish royal coat of arms in the 12th century, when William I was king.
