Aurora in my Hometown
Not the familiar green aurora or Northern Lights in Northern Europe... but rather a rose reddish glow in the Flemish sky in the Benelux. We owe this rare beautiful red natural phenomenon to a solar storm combined with clear weather. Here in Belgium, we see it occasionally in clear skies and there is a chance we will see it more and more often. I like the fact that I was able to capture it in photo anyway. Soon, anyone can come and see this red natural phenomenon when it is more prevalent~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On Thursday November 2nd 2023, bomb cyclone Ciarán raced through Flanders with gusts of up to 110 kilometres per hour and wreaked havoc on these tree silhouettes, the middle tree was demolished by Storm Ciarán, the silver birch with a birdhouse is cleaved to the middle and for now it lies over the greenhouse. It will be an occupation to remove the whole tree, they are 2 cosy ones who were amused by the Sky
