A splendor, dear Erich. The peony is my favorite flower, along with the rose. I find it to be a flower of ancient beauty and great charm. The one you've immortalized has a very delicate color, a golden heart surrounded by vanilla petals. I've planted one in my garden, but I think I'll have to wait until next year to see any buds.

The size of the peony flower causes me concern every year: it's out of all proportion to its stem, which can't prevent it from dropping to the ground... I don't understand how such a treasure hasn't solved this problem :-)
In any case, your macro whets the appetite both visually and stomach-wise! It is both carnal and gourmand, and extremely delicate.
