Beautiful and interesting pictures!!!!
All our European countries have many medieval castles (or more recent) but I nevertheless believe that England is well at the top of the ranking!!!!!!!
Have a nice tuesday evening*******

Looks like a good place to visit Rosa. As the comment above implies, we are lucky to have just so many of these castles about. Well done.

Best Wishes. Herb

Two very impressive image Rosa..............both captured in super sunshine and full of lovely detail.

The tower looks quite magnificent..........and seems to be in pretty good condition. Anyone on top would have had a cracking view and be well placed to defend the castle.

The PiP gives us a bit more context and shows the defensive walls..........the church looks quite beautiful and I note it has its own walls too.

It looks like an interesting place to visit. I'm sure you told me a while ago that you'd changed from an NT membership to an English Heritage one!
