The Fox Talbot Museum at Lacock

Lacock Abbey ~ The Museum celebrates the achievements of a former Lacock resident, William Henry Fox Talbot, who is famous for his important contributions to the invention of Photography. Fox Talbot is considered as one of the founders of the modern photographic processes. In 1835 he created the first ever photographic negative. It was taken of a small window at his home, Lacock Abbey.

4 PiPs 1. Fox Talbot portrait. 2. His study. 3. Fox Talbot in his study. 4. The other inventors of that time. Not a good picture, but hope you can read it.

My, you have portrayed some of our hobbies most important moments here with the Fox Talbert museum. I remember coming across his exploits and contribution to the Photographic Negative long ago in my hobby.
A wonderful captured series here that befits his part in history. Thanks for sharing and well done.
ps I wonder what he would have made of your series here!

Best Wishes. Herb

Rosalyn Hilborne replied to Herb Riddle:

I love visiting that museum Herb. I think it's free to enter, as it's in a building/barn before actually entering the Abbey grounds. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed the series, thank you.
He would probably be amazed at how far cameras have come since his day Herb.

Best wishes, Rosa.
