Tied Up

This started as a quick test drive of the K&E drafting machine.

It got a little out of hand.

That's 18x20in or 2.5 square feet of knotwork. Each side of each square took on average one hour, I think, which means it took about 36 hours to do just the knotwork (each time - there was a sketch pass and a lining pass), and another 3-4 hours to do the layout/grid it's drawn on.

I really liked the small (four rings) version I doodled on some graph paper. This version (nine rings) is almost too much.
