Song of the Sea - Prologue
Beyond the stone wall
The sand stretches.
I carry my castle shaped
Bucket and run to the sea.
My mother's dress
Echoes the sun that
Smiles at my pink
And white hat.
My father finds a spot
And I start building
Too close to the shore.
As the sea destroys,
I laugh and run back
To dry sand.
The 1970s photo
In my hand
Reminds me that
This is not
Imagination.
But now I exist in
Half forgotten places
And disappearing days.
