Winter

Winter took its time
Spawning in April
On the lawn
Of a chiaroscuro day.
Breathing in silence
For nine months
Before swaddling catastrophe
With new fears
To replace the old
That numbness never
Fully pained away.

I really like your framing here Rachel...........and the muted colour palette. The person in shot adds a sense of scale and also a feeling of loneliness.

An excellent capture!

Has the romantic ambience of The French Lieutenant's Woman…1981! Good grief!

Rachel J Bowler replied to Steve Bucknell:

I've read the book. Strangely, I've also got a few copies of the movie at home, collected from newspapers when they used to give away DVDs! Also, some years ago I visited Lyme Regis and Exeter, but not on the FLW trail.

Steve Bucknell replied to Rachel J Bowler:

I read The Magus, but never got around to FLW. And I loved The Ebony Tower. I don’t know if I’d feel the same way now.
