I just pressed the shutter button ;-)
I had the lens up against a porthole looking into the port side paddle chamber on the PS Waverley.
The pinkish bit in the middle of the image is the centre of the paddle wheel looking outwards as it was thrashing its way across the Thames estuary. I think the black bits are part of the framework holding the paddle assembly.
You surprise me George. I would have thought you would soon put 2 and 2 together ;-)
I am sure there are some reflections included but no doubt there is much distortion due to the thickness of the glass and the splashing salt water. I tried to provide a little clarity in my reply to Gudrun, above.
Many thanks for taking the time to say you did not recognise a maritime scene, Keith. Also I would like to assure you that I have not drowned anyone since joining Ipernity.
