This view is similar to another I posted some time ago, which was from a later date. In that one the red house had been demolished as the cliff erosion crept nearer.
A modelmaker on another site has been using some of my photos of Sussex vernacular buildings, here on ipernity, as illustrations in a magazine article he is writing for railway model makers. He wanted some views of the backs of houses. Often when travelling by train it is the backs of houses that you see from your carriage window. I have very few - some looking down from the heights of Dover and Lewes castles - a few from the viaduct outside Brighton station. This is one of the very few from a less exalted height.
