Phil Sutters replied to Dimas Sequeira:

When I was in the school naval cadets, I went on a naval aviation course at a naval air station near Portsmouth. We went up in a De Haviland Dominie bi-plane for a quick trip over the Isle of Wight. The fried eggs in the canteen were cooked in a large rectangular metal tray. The continuous slab of eggs was sliced into squares to be served. You could get one or more yolks or just a square of egg white, depending on how the eggs had landed in the tray!
