Warriors' Chapel Canterbury Cathedral 26 3 2025

The standards are the regimental 'colours' of regiments from Kent and neighbouring areas. They represent the spirits of the regiments and are highly valued as historical memorials to the soldiers. They are laid up here when they are replaced and are not cleaned or mended, as they carry with them soil, gun smoke and in some cases blood stains from the battles in which they were carried.

Phil Sutters replied to John FitzGerald:

Thanks, John. I had to play about in Photoshop to balance the lighting. The far window was fairly light so I copied the glass areas and used 'multiply' a couple of times to build up its density.
