Claremont Road EIIR 3 10 2022

Is this one of the last EIIR post boxes to be installed, or is there a stock of these to be used up before CIIIR starts appearing?

A fine idea, and great images

Phil Sutters replied to Gillian Everett:

It was a replacement for one on the other side of the road outside what, I think, was once a sub-Post Office. It made the pavement a bit crowded there. It also seemed to have had a bump, possibly from a delivery lorry, as it was slightly off the perpendicular.

An excellent capture Phil, and quite a surprise to hear it was only installed after the death of the Queen. It will be interesting to see when the new ones start to appear

Phil Sutters replied to Ecobird:

Thanks, Carol. I am not sure that I like the styling of this post box. It seems to have a mish-mash of designs from the fairly traditional cap, down past the very chunky letter box opening, the unchanged 'Last collection...' plate and the almost prison door type keyhole area, to the slab for the EIIR monogram and the weird castellated Royal Mail sign in a very 'trad' font.
