Not quite WA style, George. No, this is on the east coast of England, taken during our recent visit. I like the idea of your puzzlement, though: :-)

This brings back many childhood memories. In the 1950s-60s we spent 2 weeks holiday every year in Bridlington. The last time I was 18 years old and with friends not parents so many less child-like memories are also recalled...!!
