Thanks, Marta! I love Isaac Asimov and have a whole shelf here dedicated to his books. But only about 30 titles or so. I'm pretty sure I have all the ones you have as well.

Now I wonder if you happened to read anything by Stanisław Lem?

HaarFager replied to Marta Wojtkowska:

I don't recall having any ot his books in my collection, so I probably haven't read any of his works. I've got about 8,000 books and I'm slowly going through them trying to read each one. But it takes a long time!

Marta Wojtkowska replied to HaarFager:

8,000 books is a lot (speaking from my own experience).
I tried to make inventory of all my books a couple of years ago but after scoring about 5,000 of them I gave up and swore to never, never buy a paper book until i reduce my library.
Easier said than done because - obviously - reading e-books does not give me the same pleasure that I get from paper ones.
Nevertheless I enjoy being a member of some on-line digital libraries. Like the Internet Archive...

That's where I found something for you: The Star Diaries (by Stanisław Lem)

archive.org/details/stardiaries0000lems

I've just borrowed it for one hour to make sure that it is a good translation. Yes, it is, by Michael Kandel - the best of the best. I am returning it now so its available to other readers. Done!

Can you indulge me and give it a try? You'll need an account there to borrow the book but it is free.

Thanks for the link - I already have an account there, so I just need to go look for it.
