House facade in Taormina

Carlo Siligato (1875-1959) was a painter from Taormina, best known for being the long-time partner of British expatriate Robert Hawthorn Kitson, with whom he lived at Casa Cuseni. He was from one of the wealthy families of Taormina, owner of Hotel Naumachie and of a construction company (that built Casa Cuseni). He graduated at Accademia di Belle Arti in Venice, and after meeting Kitson he adopted Kitson's favourite technique of watercolours.

Around 1893, before meeting Kitson, Siligato had also modelled for Wilhelm von Gloeden.

His studio, where he also gave art lessons, can still be seen along Via Teatro Greco in Taormina.
