Tegulae and imbrex from Caerleon
Roman roof tiles from the legionary fortress at Caerleon, South Wales. The flat tiles have "makers marks" (the finger-drawn arches) and the tile on the left has impressions from a hobnailed shoe. All the tiles are stamped with the name of the legion LEGIIAVG (the Second Legion Augusta).
