Feathers

I found these feathers in the corner of my garden a few days ago, together with some spots of blood. I'm guessing that one of the neighbourhood cats caught a pigeon :-(

I gathered up some of the clean feathers and decided to make a close up image of them. I hope you like the result.

I think is looks best viewed large. Thanks for looking!

The things you do with odd found objects Keith. Feathers are notoriously difficult to photograph with the right exposure (a bit like white satin wedding dresses). You did a nice job here. Well done.

Cheers. Herb

Keith Burton replied to Herb Riddle:

It seemed shame just to leave them there.

Glad you like the resulting photo Herb. I placed a dark(ish) piece of card behind them to reduce the pure white.

Thanks as always for your visit and kind comments!

Keith, what a coincidence! I just photographed feathers I had picked up in front of my house, some time ago, for use one day, as whatever. They are cuculí (West Peruvian dove (Zenaida meloda) feathers. Many times I used the live cuculis as wonderful photographic subjects
