Carnations, are also known as Dianthus. This is a cut flower variety taken from a bouquet of flowers given to my wife when she got home from hospital last week. Photographed indoors using natural light. The background is textured card.

Yes, Jackie had to go into hospital for an emergency gall bladder removal op. Apparently it had got blocked by gall stones and had become necrotic. The op went without problems (keyhole surgery) and she was home within 2 days and is now recovering well. Thanks for your kind words which I'll pass on to her :-)
