Carnation Lorcas

Carnations, are also known as Dianthus. This is a cut flower variety taken from a bouquet of flowers given to my wife when she got home from hospital last week. Photographed indoors using natural light. The background is textured card.

I cropped this image down for an even closer view. Please have a look at the PiP.

Eine sehr schöne Nelke. Herrlich die Blüte im Fokus mit einem tollen Bokeh. Tolles Muster im PIP. Prima Stillleben, Keith.

Beautiful bloom image. Sorry to hear Jackie has been in hospital Keith. I haven't been on here much lately so must have missed some info. Glad she is home and give her our love from me and Kay and hope she's feeling ok now.

Thank you very much Alby.......always appreciated..!!

Yes, Jackie had to go into hospital for an emergency gall bladder removal op. Apparently it had got blocked by gall stones and had become necrotic. The op went without problems (keyhole surgery) and she was home within 2 days and is now recovering well. Thanks for your kind words which I'll pass on to her :-)

The PiP is lovely but I like the main photo even better because the background enhances the flower.
