Lichen
I can't go far from home at the moment, until my wife is better after her recent operation, but while she was taking an afternoon nap yesterday, I grabbed my camera and had a look round the grounds of our Civic Centre, which is only a few hundred metres from my house. I found a fallen branch with mosses and lichen on it and took it home to photograph it.
This is "Fanfare of Trumpets" lichen, which I've never seen before. What a great name..!!

The good thing is, once you've seen it, your eye becomes more trained and you see it more often :-)))
