Magnolia Grandiflora

Seed head and red seeds. Check out the PiP for another image.

These were both taken in a public garden in my home town, Havant, Hampshire.

Eine interessante Pflanze. Sehr schön mit dem präzisen Fokus auf die Details gezeigt. Prima mit den beiden Bildern den Ablauf gezeigt.

Superb natural history image Keith wonderful with the red seeds and textured husk, are you going to try and germinate some of the seeds but unless you live in mansion it would swamp the house the only one I know of is in Leicester Botanic Garden. Many yeas ago I was given 3 seeds of Winter Sweet one germinated and 10 years later it flowered to old for projects like that now :(((

These are lovely, Keith. We moved to Canberra 5 years ago, and prior to that, I planted a tiny twig of a magnolia grandiflora in my garden in the Adelaide hills, 30 years ago now. It grew into a big spreading beauty with flowers the size of dinner plates, and these thumping big seed cones.
Love your photos, and thanks for the memories! ♥️
