Red Berries

I have no ideas what plant/tree these red berries come from. I found them piled up like this on a wall near the the Bishop's Palace Gardens in Chichester, West Sussex. As they were there, I thought I'd take a photo of them and I quite like how it turned out.

Edit 27th Oct.........thanks to David G Johnson (below), I believe these berries are called Autumn Olives.

I love the light on the red unknown berries , a very fine contrast with the blurred background.
