Jersey Tiger Moth

I've never seen one of these before, but I spotted this one in my garden earlier on today just before it started raining. I had time for one shot before it flew off. Unfortunately, it had landed on a lump of rusty metal in a pile of rubbish waiting to go to the tip, which didn't make the best background.

This is really just a "record" shot and I'm hoping it will turn up in the garden again in better circumstances.

Well done, Keith. You were lucky to have noticed this moth. It could have been mistaken for a leaf.

Personally I really like the background I think it suits the subject, I also like where the wings meet at the bottom, it resembles a skull! Great shot I like it a lot

An amazingly patterned moth! I like the background as the colours are perfectly in harmony- this "record" shot is fabulous.

Keith Burton replied to Gudrun:

Thank you Gudrun..........I;m pleased you like it. I call it a record shot because mainly because of the background. Hopefully it will hang around and I'll get another chance to capture it.
