Leycesteria Formosa

Also known as Himalayan Honeysuckle. Spotted and photographed in the Bishop's Palace Gardens, in Chichester, West Sussex.

These are well past their use-by date, having dropped their seeds earlier. The remaining bits of the flowers will soon dry out and drop off.

A beautiful capture Keith it must be sheltered to still look so good, another name for it is Pheasant Berry game keepers used to plant it to shelter their birds, have a good weekend

Keith Burton replied to Peter Castell:

Thanks very much Peter........glad you like this one. Thanks for giving me another common name for it.

The garden is surrounded by trees and high walls and is very sheltered as you guessed.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Beautiful colour and a great focus on a plant slowly fading away but retaining its beauty to the end,
An image I would probably have walked past and missed the dying embers of this beauty,

Well seen and expertly captured my friend, have a lovely weekend!

Keith Burton replied to Roger (Grisly):

Thanks for your visit and generous comments as always Roger. I'm pleased you enjoyed this one. It was actually difficult to miss as it was overhanging the path through the gardens.

I've had a quiet day indoors today (raining), but out tomorrow for lunch with family and friends as it's my wife's birthday.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend my friend.
