The River Arun and Arundel Castle

Taken from the riverbank just outside the town centre. The boats in the foreground are all berthed at private moorings, which are made from scaffolding poles and wood. Personally, I think they're very unsightly and spoil the view. They're unavoidable though.

There's a closer view of the castle in the PiP if you're interested.

Arundel Castle is a restored and remodelled medieval castle. It dates from the 11th century. It is currently the home of The Duke and Duchess of Norfolk and their children, the Earls of Arundel and the Dukes of Norfolk. It is a Grade I listed building. (Information from Wikipedia).

Keith Burton replied to Eunice Perkins:

Thank you Eunice..........you're very kind. It's not the boats I don't like, it's just the horrible scaffolding and badly build moorings!

The moorings do look a bit ragtag but they don't spoil the view for me;-) The sweep of the river, the boats and the impressive castle make for a beautiful composition!

Without doubt, one of the most beautiful castles in England Keith. I think the weather was poor on my Autumn trip here many years ago. Well done.

Thanks for sharing with our UK Landscape Photography Group , Herb

The boats are a bit scruffy, but they do lead your eyes to the castle. A well-composed and realized capture.
