Sunbathing Terrapins
Spotted taking in the sunshine, in the waters of Petersfield Heath Pond. They are not native to the UK, but sadly, are often kept as pets indoors in glass tanks.
These are most likely pets which grew too large for their tanks and so were dumped into the pond. I've spotted them in the pond, before, but this is the first time I've seen more than one at the same time.

We have the same problem with dumped pets, they have formed quite a few colonies in lakes by now.

I suppose the way to look at it is at least they're not still in a small glass tank!
