Crab Spider on Coreopsis Flower (+PiPs)

While I was dead-heading the Coreopsis flowers in my garden yesterday afternoon, I spotted this very tiny Crab Spider nestled in the centre of one of them..........so I had to dash back indoors and grab my camera and macro lens, before getting down on my knees to get a couple of photos. Even with the macro lens, these had to be cropped.

PiP1 is another view of the spider.
PiP 2 is a quick shot I took with my thumb underneath to show some scale.

Thanks for looking!

That insect is almost microscopic. You did well to see it. Thank you for the wonderful macro shot and the comparison with your thumb! It is such an amazing thing to be able to see the details of something so tiny!

Ooooh, all those eyes!!! A good day yesterday for tidying the garden and keeping the camera handy Keith. A good idea to give a sense of the size in your thumb picture.....and a very pretty flower as well. Thank goodness they are not the same size as the other two shots ;-))

An excellent series. Happy Thursday.

Ha, ha.........lovely ain't they? I was lucky to spot this tiny little spider, If I hadn't have been dead-heading I wouldn't have noticed it.

Glad you like the photos Rosa and thanks for your comments.

I checked today and it was still there, on the same flower, so it must be catching enough food!
