Greedy Crow

This was taken at the Heath Pond, Petersfield in Hampshire. This crow was stealing the food being fed to the ducks and had grabbed so many duck pellets that his crop was all swollen and it couldn't even fully close its beak!

If you view large you can see the pellets in his beak, which he was unable to swallow :-))

Keith Burton replied to Günter Klaus:

Thank you Wilhelm........it was so funny to watch him scrabbling to get the food first! Glad you like this photo!

My 40-150mm is a very versatile lens. I also use it with a 1.4 teleconverter which takes the reach to 210mm.

Keith Burton replied to Fred Fouarge:

It wasn't ruining any other birds lives Fred...........there was plenty of food to go round. It is just doing what comes naturally so you can't blame it for that :-)

A wonderful capture with fine detail and the light on the bird makes this a perfect greedy crow portrait !
I like the scattered leaves at its feet and the water colours which help to complete a brilliant image Keith.

Wish you a great weekend,

A fine shot here of this greedy crow. We sometimes have trouble with them demolishing our fat balls and leaving nothing for the small song birds.

Cheers. Herb

Wow - well that'll teach him not to be greedy. It does look as if he's having problems with his gullet. A brilliant photo
