Racton Monument

Looking across the fields to this old folly in West Sussex. I've photographed this many times over the years, but it's nearly always possible to find a different perspective or a change in the surrounding countryside, depending on the crops and time of the year.

Anyone who is interested can check this place out on the following Wikipedia link:

Please have a look large, on black. Thanks for looking :-)

I understand that idea of finding a new angle of a familiar scene. It’s a good challenge to retain interest in photographing a local area

Keith Burton replied to Colin Ashcroft:

Thank you Colin. I'm having to stay fairly local for my photography lately for various reasons, but I'm enjoying the challenge.

It can look so different, depending on the weather and season, as you show us here Keith. I love the sky. It's easy to take pictures when there is a nice blue sky, but clouds are altogether different and more difficult I find. I like this picture very much.

Keith Burton replied to Rosalyn Hilborne:

Thank you Rosa..............I'm pleased you like this one :-). Personally, I prefer clouds to plain blue skies, but sometimes they make you work harder for the photos!
