The statue of the Czech writer Božena Němcova is located in the northern part of the Slavic Island. It is the work of the sculptor Karel Pokorný from 1941 to 1952. At the Slavic island it was fitted in 1955. There it was where Božena Němcova attended her first big ball in 1843 .
