Andromeda in my backyard

Just because I can, being a retired person, I spent about three hours this evening thinking about and looking at the sky. Our backyard is pretty close to downtown St. John's (Newfoundland) so it is always a surprise to see anything starry in my camera viewer. This evening I saw a couple of the Draconid shooting stars but neither was spectacular, and I didn't have the camera pointed at either. (Tomorrow evening is the peak for that.)

I spent half that time searching for the Andromeda Galaxy. I found it between trees in the neighbourhood.

In case you're wondering, this was with my zoom lens at 150mm, handheld, and set at ISO12800. This is a crop of about 60% of the frame. The shot was a third of a second at f/2.8. (Camera stabilisation is one of the miracles of digital photography.)
