The neighbourhood Northern flicker, having last week been scared off our chimney by my loudly knocking the fireplace poker on the metal parts at the bottom while he was on the top knocking his knocker at the top parts, has gone on to try various other chimneys. Yesterday he was two doors up from us, testing the acoustics, both the ratatatat and the vocal. He didn't seem to mind when I aimed the camera at him in mid-song.
