Downy
The neighbourhood has a family of flickers hanging around every day -- eating and playing music, and bluffing the other birds.
The neighbourhood also has this Downy woodpecker though he hasn't approached the peanuts or suet as the flickers do. He was bouncing from tree to tree today. This was the best shot I could get from the kitchen door.
It's a crop, about a sixth of the original picture, and it's the "best" one because I can actually see the diagnostic black spots on his white tail feathers. Thus I know it's not a Hairy woodpecker.
