It's a couple of decades since I was picking boletes when I could find them.

Thus I'm not really sure that this is a Boletus edulis, the King bolete, the Steinpilz, the porcini, the bread-bun mushroom, the cèpe. . . .

I wasn't sure, but it looked like it. Looked enough like it that I was a bit shocked and disappointed that someone had kicked over and broken up a troop of them this afternoon. Including this one, the least broken up one.

I didn't bring them home. Maybe I should have.
