We didn't plant Yellow loosestrife outside our window. Maybe the previous owners did. But it is a native plant and maybe it just found us. We do get to enjoy it this time of the year.

We've been calling it Evening primrose for two decades, two decades of blissful botanical ignorance.

EDIT, later: A friend of mine, a naturalist and a botanist, tells me it is not actually native, though having naturalised itself. Wrong again. . . but righted again, too. :)
