For 170 years the hospital this is part of was the mental hospital for the area. As of a few weeks ago, that hospital has been moved into a more modern place.

Over the past two decades, successive parts of this building were shut and left derelict. Pigeons, one of which can be seen here on a window ledge if you look closely, have been getting inside through broken windows on this side.
