All the residents of these six homes destroyed yesterday by fire got safely away from the fire. Apparently the fire trucks took less than three minutes to arrive at the scene; or so the news story said.

But despite their speed, it is hard to save an almost eighty-year-old wooden building on a hot day with high winds. So the building is a complete loss.

I was driving by this morning and stopt to look and take a picture. As awful as a house fire is, I couldn't help but be reminded that the remains of house fires always smell like good Scotch whisky to me.
