I had seen this dress a dozen times over online but I never really understood the border until I saw it in person. The entire style of the dress is 1510s/early 1520's Venetian. The border looks like ribbonwork in person done in green and silver. The green is repeated on the sleeves. The sleeves open in the front and are tied together with the green ribbon
