Si Nan

Si Nan – the world’s first compass, was one of the four great inventions in ancient china. (about 400 BC)
This is a small sized model Si Nan (South Governor) of Han Dynasty .
It is composed of : shu’o and an earth-plate. Shu’o is a spoon made of metallic magnetic material. The earth-plate is made of copper or another non-magnetic material. The spoon shows to the south direction

Si Nan - der weltweit ersten Kompass, war einer der vier großen Erfindungen im alten China. (etwa 400 Jahre vor unserer Zeitrechnung)
Dies ist ein kleines Modell Si Nan (South Gouverneur) aus der Han-Dynastie.
Es besteht aus: shu'o und Erd-Platte. Shu'o ist ein Löffel aus magnetischem Material.
Die Erd-Platte ist aus Kupfer oder einem anderen nicht-magnetischen Material.
Der Löffelstiel zeigt die Südrichtung.
