Calopogon tuberosus (Common Grass-pink orchid) and Pitcher Plants in the Bog Garden
About 4 days ago, these Grass-pink orchids (white form) began to bloom in my bog garden. The typical, pink/purple ones are done for this year -- just a couple of them still hanging on.
I had rescued a couple of these plants about 10 years ago from a ditch widening in southeastern North Carolina. They have managed to multiply quite well over the years.
We had a deluge of rain last night, and I thought they would have been trashed, but they came out OK. They are at their peak today, and I'm quite pleased with the show...
