Peintures augustiniennes dans le chœur de l’église ont été mises à jour en 2000. De l’avis des experts italiens venus les étudier, elles constituent un ensemble pictural unique en France !

Ces peintures ont été recouvertes pendant des siècles par différents crépis qui en fin de compte les ont peut-être protégées! Elles n'ont été "redécouvertes" qu'en 2000!!!!!! Elles sont désormais sous haute protection.
