Sheperd dog

Sheperd dog, 8 yeaqrs old.
Being one of the oldest breeds in the Iberian Peninsula, it owes its name to the village where it originates, the village of Castro Laboreiro, municipality of Melgaço in the extreme north of Portugal. It is a mountainous, rugged region, which extends from the Minho River to the Peneda and Soajo Mountains, whose altitude reaches 1400 meters. Demarcated by the rivers Minho, Trancoso, Laboreiro and Mouro.
A loyal and docile companion for his family, he is indispensable in protecting the herds against the attack of wolves that, in the vicinity of the region of origin, are still frequent today.
Thanks to its constant vigilance and frequent patrols, it is the ideal sentinel for the properties entrusted to it. Noble of nature. Very agile and active, he can show some hostility without, however, being brawling.
