Festa dos Tabuleiros
Tomar was the Templar headquarters, and the order of the Temple was always accused by the Inquisition of doctrinal deviations, if not of heresy, until it was extinguished by Pope Clement V in 1307.
The symbols of the Holy Spirit are clearly present on the high tray that the girls carry in the procession: at the top the dove and the crown and from top to bottom the bread strung on a cane (to which miraculous virtues were attributed), paper flowers (traditionally, poppies) and even ears of corn.
Each four years Tomar displays this celebrations and will follow it up here up here.
Thank you.

the description of the Tabuleiro is made, in short 15 kg,1,20 m over the head
during 5 km of uneven ground is a very good , if not a superb feat and
many of them are less than 22 years old...
