Those obviously aren't Boris Bikes. Yes I heard about them even from Madrid. We have our equivalent, called BiciMad (I love it - of course when I explain why I find the name amusing, my Madridileno students are indignant! They are rightly proud of theirs!)

We have "dockless bikes" in Oxford. I don't know how many end up in the canal.
